Christian Council of Ghana,

YOUR INTERVENTION IS URGENTLY NEEDED ON THE NEW VOTERS’ REGISTER IMPASSES AMIDST COVID-19

Ghana is among the nations currently battling with Coronavirus pandemic.

We can all attest to the fact that, Ghana has had numerous of registration exercises put in place by the then Electoral Commission.

Who qualifies to be part of the registration exercise was spelt out in the 1992 Constitution in Article 42.

The most shocking revelation was that, this same register EC is trying hardly to change was used by the electoral commission for the assembly elections, the Yes or No referendum on the new regions, and AWW by-election which produces an MP.

All the above mentioned which has been described by the EC as successful was done using the same current register. What has changed?

If this current register was able to produced over 6,600 Assembly Members and over 33,000 Unit Committee Members recently, what then will happen to the register from now and December 7 that cannot elect Only One President and 275 Parliamentarians?

Majority of Ghanaians are against the compilation of new register because we are not in normal times.

Again, if it has been stated in the constitution that, the register should be review and you later finds fought in the register, it should follow an acceptable process where every Political parties and those who matters should give their concerns before you make any move to change. Jean Mensa is imposing the new register on us which is against our wish.

As Christian Council of Ghana, we all saw your numerous contributions to the development of Ghana in the past years, I want to plead with you to call Jean Mensa and the president to order because, the future is scaring if EC is still insisting to compile new register.

In governance and nation building, the CCG monitors the activities of political parties and professional bodies in the country and offers advice to them. In 2005 the council appealed to Ghanaians and professional bodies to put the country’s economy first and spend more time discussing issues of national interest concerning education, health and poverty.

In 2011 the council encouraged political party leaders and their followers to avoid the use of provocative language in their speeches.

I know you have the capacity to call Jean Mensa to order before it’s too late.

Thank you.

Moses Dometey

NDC IS OUT FROM THE LIONS DEN SOUND AND SAVED, 2020, OUR YEAR OF RETURN FOR VICTORY – BOLA RAY JNR DECLARES

The NDC party led by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama is saved from the lions den by Ghanaians because NDC has been found blameless before their rival NPP government.

The NPP government has been brought to power, tried, tested and failed woefully. Even their own members in the party are complaining bitterly calling on former president John Dramani Mahama to save this nation from before it’s too late or Mr. Akuffo Addo hand it over to our colonial masters again because we are fed up with this current NPP government.

The NPP party lied their way to power just to fulfil their personal desires and to self actualise. They had succeeded in all their plans. The one term president Akuffo Addo and his entire party are nothing but liars who decently deceived Ghanaians with their lies. You can even dash them a rented car for free due to their confidence in lying. They will be like, ” My father even own a castle in the air.” They are poisonous snakes under carpet.

Ghanaian citizens are seriously calling on former president John Dramani Mahama to intervene for this nation before the NPP party destroys. They did all their worst though but all hope is not lost, former president John Dramani Mahama can amalgamate it after December 7, 2020.

The Story Begins
Over the past three and half years now, NDC has been kept in the lions den by the NPP due to their massive lies but the Ghanaian populance have seen it was a mistake for voting NDC out of power in the 2016 general election which they won’t repeat such mistake come 2020. Majority of Ghanaians voted for the NPP because they promises them heaven on earth just to know they haven’t even gotten to the sky. They lied, and that lies brought them to power.

They have promised us a lot. We weren’t smart at then so they played trick on our intelligence. But we are too smart this time around. We are voting for NDC government led by John Dramani Mahama.

Ghanaians brought John Dramani Mahama and the NDC party to power but the jealous rival opponent, NPP trick Ghanaians into thinking that the NDC government was incompetent.

The NPP plotted evil against the NDC in the sight of Ghanaians and the entire NDC had been thrown into the lions den since 2016.

The NDC continues to pray to God of Israel, and the good people of Ghana. The NDC had been sentenced to death by the NPP with their lies before Ghanaians. The NDC has been arrested and thrown into the lions den for almost four years now by the NPP in their mind of destroying the NDC. We are sound and saved. We are taken over 2020. We are coming and nothing can stop our victory.

Now the lies of the NPP against the NDC has exposed themselves.

2020, the year of return from the lions den.

POSSIBLE QUESTIONS TO EC ON THE NEW VOTERS’ REGISTER BROUHAHA – BY BOLA RAY JNR

Current Tein UCC Deputy Communication Officer and President of a group called, “Action Movement Youth” (AMY) Volunteers, Mr. Moses Dometey popularly known as Bola Ray Jnr, will like to challenge Jean Mensa and those conniving on compiling new needless and useless voters’ register, to provide answers to the following questions below:

  1. How many people are ready to queue over longer periods for another registration amidst covid-19 Pandemic?
  2. Should we allow over 60,000 biometric verification devices to go waste for no reason? These devices were successfully utilized in all elections; the referendum and the district assembly election. What has changed?
  3. EC and CODEO confirmed the devices used were 98% successful, now what again is the problem that demands compiling new useless register?
  4. Is this not wasting of taxpayers money?…can’t those devices be upgraded instead of thrown away?
  5. Many more people will be disenfranchised, that’s the grand scheme? If not, why are you interested in changing the entire register instead of review?
  6. Again, not just about the registration, the EC is bringing a system which will be controlled by the NPP boys and you think we don’t know Jean Mensa? Why should we allow that to happen?
  7. Another part of the argument is that, they don’t have control over the system per the agreement enter by the previous commissioners. Now they want to have the source code and access to the database and if this goes through, what guarantee the free and fairness? If such happens then we should forget about 2020. With the current system, the vendor has access to the backend so it makes it difficult to proceed with agenda. Jean Mensa, what at all do you want?
  8. Jean Mensa have changed all the I.T staff at the EC and what exactly is your motives behind that?

Jean Mensa, kindly remove your Political lenses and see with clear eyes if you are really a Ghanaian:

  1. The cost of the new voters’ registration exercise, involved the procurement of a new biometric registration system estimated over GHC 444 million.
  2. We are going to use this amount when teachers, nurses, contractors, drivers and students are crying for unmet and unresolved concerns amidst covid-19.
  3. After using the current voters’ register to successfully elect about 6,600 District Assembly members and about 33,000 unit committee members it was clear that there was nothing wrong with the current register, yet Jean Mensa is telling us that same register cannot be used to elect One PRESIDENT and 275 Members of Parliament. Why?
  4. What is likely to happen to the old register used for the DA Election between now and December 7?

If EC keep insisting that new register is needed for Election 2020, then is she telling us the district assembly elections was invalid, illegal, fraudulent, closeness, unaccountable, unverifiable, etc?

We will resist any form of oppressors rule.

“I’m a citizen, not spectator.”

EC MUST DO THE NEEDFUL TO AVOID CHAOS IN THE COUNTRY➖ ACTION MOVEMENT YOUTH (AMY) PRESIDENT WARNS

Youth group movement called, “Action Movement Youth” has caution the EC to back off from compiling new needless and useless voters’ register.

According to the president of the group, Mr. Dometey Moses Tettey popularly known as Bola Ray Jnr, Ghana has had series of registration exercises put in place by the Electoral Commission after two general and assembly elections in the bid to capture new voters or Ghanaians who have truly attained 18 years.

After each registration exercise and usage of a register, there are loop holes identified in the register used which range from need to take out names of dead citizens and also to capture citizenry who for one reason or the other have not been in the country as at the time of registration. Electoral malpractices by electorates during elections, new reforms and other tangible reasons. These reasons give clear indications that any register needs to be changed. Ghana’s Constitution stipulates that after years of any registration exercise, the register should be updated for the above reasons.

Who qualifies to be part of the registration exercise is spelt out in the 1992 Constitution in Article 42 and all its chapters. It is primarily, a citizen of Ghanaian descent who has attained the age of 18+ of sound mind at the time of registration.

The current register has been used by the electoral commission for the assembly elections, the yes or no referendum on new regions, and AWW by-election which produces us an MP. All the above which the EC described as successful was done by this current register, now what has changed? Ghanaians want to know, the current register by law ought to be used for the general elections slated for December 2020.

If this current register was able to produced over 6,600 Assembly Members and over 33,000 Unit Committee Members, why can’t same register be used to elect Only one president and 275 Parliamentarians? What will happen to the register between now and December 7?

The question is, why would a formidable EC and its officials like the Commissioner and the right-hand officials are bending to change the register? Does their reasons have any legal basis?

The reasons given by the EC to change the register do not add up! Simply put, has no iota of truth in it.

Taking a cursory look at the chunk of money to be used in putting a new register in place in lieu of the serious problems Ghanaians face seems like a waste of the taxpayers’ money.

The EC must take into consideration the view of the majority of Ghanaians, it should take off its political lenses and analyses its reasons for opting for a new register.

We are amazed Ghana has such huge amounts of money to waste but still goes on lending sprees for God knows what developmental projects earmarked only to win political points!

The recent challenges citizens had to go through during the NIA card registration should educate us to stay away from another registration exercise. So, we can not use just one card to transact financial, electoral, and any other businesses? Oh, have we not heard that the countries we aspire to be like or blindly copy policies from putting better measures in place for their citizens? Ghana, my beloved country, when will you be the Ghana outsiders think you are? We portray to outsiders that all is well but we all know that the opposite exists!

Mr. President, remember your renowned quote, “we know what to do to bring our economy back to life, what we do not know is how to bring people back to life”.

In fact, it behoves the EC to retract it’s obsessed decision to go ahead no matter what Ghanaians say to put a new register in place before the forthcoming general elections in December.

Even, come to think of this, if a birth certificate can produce a passport and Ghana Card, and these two cards can be used to generate voters ID, yet, birth certificate that produces these documents can’t still be used to generate voters’ID, isn’t this ridiculous?

“I am a citizen, not spectator.”

If you are for peace, we are for peace, but if you’re for war, we are for resistance. The Youth of this nation shall arise against any oppressors rule.

We are not without fear that if the EC goes ahead to do the unthinkable, the stubborn fly will definitely follow the corpse to the grave. EC can not trade the peace Ghanaians have with the ulterior motive of pleasing its paymasters just to mar the peace we have in Ghana! “a word to a wise is enough”.
